We offer

  • Round the clock nursing.
  • Weekly visit by a general physician
  • Monthly visit by a consultant physician who is also on call
  • Individual medical files maintained for all residents.
  • Basic requirement of drugs provided on medical advice.
  • Designated room for masjid to enable residents to pray.
  • Residents taken to main masjid for jumma and eid prayers.
  • Conduct of religious discourses by arrangement
  • In case of grave illness, sponsors will be notified immediately
  • In case of death, the chairman/secretary/warden and staff of the LFHE will help in the funeral arrangements in consultation with next of kin.


Objective of comforting the elderly to contribute improvements in the quality of life and alleviating the suffering of the needy residents. We provide assistance to the elderly based on actual needs regardless of gender or social status.

We shall remain impartial and work towards the improvements of the Home regardless of other considerations.

We hold ourselves accountable to those who assist us and to those whom we assist, we also assure that our assistance is transparent and will not brook any corruption or waste in the use of equipment and supplies.

We seek in involve our benefactors and donors in the implementation of our future plans for the benefit of the Home.We request the well wishers and donors to work towards the ideals and needs of the Home to enhance the living standards of the residents. We expect all parties to respect the elderly and their social needs and to give light to them in the twilight years of their lives.



Eligibility, procedure and conditions for admission of Residents.

  • Candidates must be over 60 years of age at the time of admission.
  • A medical report certifying that the candidate is free of any communicable disease and physical disability.
  • The resident may be allowed to be taken out temporarily by the guardian or next of kin.
  • If a resident is taken away or leaves of his/her volition he/she will not be re-admitted unless valid reasons are adduced.
  • Any information provided for admission, if found to be false or inaccurate, the resident will be discharged forthwith.
  • In case of grave illness the applicant and or next of kin will be notified to take steps for the hospitalization and or other medical attention required for the well being of the resident.
  • The applicant will undertake to donate monthly an agreed sum of money for the welfare of the resident and shall also undertake to make regular visits.
  • All applications to include:
    • Doctors report in full
    • Letter of recommendation from the present residential area of the candidate.
    • Two passport size photographs of the resident upon admission.
    • Copy of national identity certificate of the resident with application.
  • All applications will be considered on merit and the home will communicate with the applicant after
  • All payments to be made in cash or bankers draft favouring the MICH on a/c of Lady Fareed Home for Elders A/c. No. 0000350911 and forwarded to the Chairman in person or by registered post.
  • All cash payments will be covered by an official receipt. Cheques, money orders or bank drafts in settlement will be acknowledged upon realization.

Duly completed and signed application together with the above documents to be forwarded to the Chairman, Lady Fareed Home for Elders, at the address given below.

Rules and regulations governing residents of the Home.

  • All residents to be up by 6 a.m to attend to their ablutions.
  • All residents to appear well groomed and attired. Individual lockers are provided for their clothes and Essentials.
  • Morning tea will be served in the lobby area.
  • Breakfast will only be served in the dining area between 7.30 a.m & 8.30 a.m.
  • Reading materials and copies of the Holy Quran will be available at the lobby.
  • All residents to vacate room by 8.30 a.m to facilitate cleaning.
  • All rooms and toilets to be kept neat and tidy by the residents for their usage.
  • Those who wish to indulge in any hobbies may inform the warden.
  • In would be in the interest of the residents if the mornings are spent out in the gardens.
  • Lunch will be served in the Dining room area only between 12.30 to 1.30 p.m.
  • All residents will take a siesta after lunch up to 3.30 p.m.
  • Dinner will be served in the dining room area between 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
  • Tea and refreshments will be served in the lobby area or outside garden
  • Under no circumstance will food be allowed in the rooms
  • Residents are not permitted to entertain visitors in their rooms.
  • All visitors will have to respect the privacy of the residents and will have to confine themselves to the lobby area or the garden which has ample space.
  • Smoking is strictly forbidden within the building.
  • No intoxicants in any form will be allowed and any violation of this rule will lead to the immediate discharge of the user.
  • Residents are not permitted to use or operate the washing machine or refrigerators
  • Transport for medical attention of a resident advised by the visiting doctor for external treatment and medical attention is available. Transport may be provided and the Warden will be responsible to effect same.
